About

I'm Alissa Lang. I built this because I needed it.

Two decades leading high-pressure businesses, then six years working 1:1 with people whose nervous systems had been running too hot for too long. Then perimenopause turned my own volume up, and I found out how thin the help was for the part that is not a prescription.

I trained where the change actually happens: as a BWRT and NLP Practitioner, under John Grinder, who co-founded NLP, and deep into the neuroscience of stress and emotion. Since then I have worked with clients at each of the three levels the check reads: settling the body, updating the trigger, reworking the story. That work became Emotional Downshift. This is the same method, applied to a transition that turns the volume up on all three at once.

What I learned on my own journey is that the stress side and the clinical side both deserve proper help, and that neither is a substitute for the other. So Menopause Overwhelm is built as four pillars: the one I deliver, and three delivered by qualified partners in fitness, nutrition and functional gynaecology. I curate the bench; they do their jobs.

What people say

I've made more progress in a few months than I had in 15 years of therapy. It gave me my life back.

1:1 client, BWRT

After just three weeks I have completely changed. I stand up for myself organically and I am more solid in my foundations.

1:1 client, BWRT

Working with Alissa has helped me feel better about myself than I have for 20 years. Caring, insightful, patient and kind.

1:1 client, after years of other therapy

Scope, plainly

I am not a clinician. I do not diagnose, and I do not give medical or hormone advice. Questions about symptoms, treatment or HRT belong with your GP or a qualified menopause specialist, and the advanced HRT pillar exists to get you to one. Everything I deliver is education, self-reflection and regulation work.
