Menopause Overwhelm · with Alissa Lang

Perimenopause turns the volume up on everything. This turns it down.

Flooded, snapping, sleepless, flat, and no idea which part is hormones, which part is life, and what to do first. You are not losing it. The alarm is louder than it used to be, and there are four places it can be turned down. Start by finding out which one is loudest today.

Take the free 3-minute check Six questions about one moment. No sign-up. Private.

The check looks at the stress side only. It cannot tell you anything about your hormones, and it is not a diagnosis.

Four pillars

One front door. Four places the volume can come down.

The emotions pillar is mine, built on six years of client work and my own perimenopause. The other three are delivered by named, qualified partners, because nutrition plans, training programmes and HRT decisions belong with people qualified to give them.

How the check works

Three minutes. One moment. A clear read.

1
Pick one moment

Not your whole story. One specific situation, like "my manager messaged me and my chest tightened" or "I woke at 3am already in alarm".

2
Answer six questions

How the stress arrived, what felt strongest, what tends to help. No right answers, nothing to diagnose.

3
See which level is leading

A body-first alarm, a learned trigger, or a mind-led worry, and the kind of help that fits that level. Then the pillar to go to next.

Why the level matters

You cannot reframe a flooded body, and breathing will not dismantle a story.

Perimenopause lowers the firing threshold of the brain's alarm system. A surge arrives faster, a trigger lands harder, a worry spirals further. Most stress advice aims at the thinking mind alone, which is one third of what is happening. The check tells you which third you are in.

Level 1

Body-first alarm

Fast, physical, before thought. Heat, pounding heart, sudden rage or tears, waking at 3am. Settles through the body, not logic.

Level 2

Learned trigger

A "here we go again" reaction to a familiar cue, louder than it used to be. Settles by updating the old pattern.

Level 3

Mind-led worry

Thought loops, what-ifs, the story about what the symptoms mean. Settles by working with the thinking.
